I love what I do. I love the excitement of a new project. I love the unlimited possible paths to create something that people will respond to. That’s why I volunteer my time and services in my community whenever possible. It’s like having my own little agency where, although I don’t get paid, I do get the satisfaction of being able to do what I enjoy to help my friends and neighbors.
These are the projects that I do just for the fun of it!
Wildcat Book Club
There was a Junior Great Books program at my kid’s elementary school. It was mostly folk stories about goats that played the banjo. I thought we could do better. I developed not only a whole new “book club”, with current books to get kids excited about reading, but also a targeted marketing plan. I created a series of posters to place throughout the school to get the kids amped up, and then a series of handouts to get the parents on board. This is, by far, one of the most rewarding projects I have ever been a part of.
Labor of Love
Labor of Love is a local organization that puts on an event every year to raise money for a local family in need. I could not be prouder that I was asked to help with their efforts.
D64 ELF Casino Night
It’s gambling. And drinking. And eating. You know, for kids. Or something. The event always has a great theme to design around, and it’s a good time, and then there are more field trips and assemblies and all that stuff that makes school fun.
Invitations
When you do personalized invitations for your kids birthday, be warned, other parents are going to ask you to do it for their kids, too. That’s just how that works.
